LAND & WISDOM ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I live on indigenous land. In addition to the Abenaki, Maine is home to the sovereign people of the Wabanaki Confederacy: the Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Maliseet, and Mi'kmaq peoples. They never ceded their homeland which includes at least 2/3 of the state of Maine. The Wabanaki Alliance and Maine Initiatives websites share ideas for how to support tribal sovereignty in Maine.
